3/18/08: San Fran.: “Digging Out: Helping Your Loved One Manage Clutter & Hoarding”

Judith Kolberg, founder of the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization, will delve into some of the ends and outs of what is sometimes called executive dysfunction. She examines ideas about disorganization we always suspected might be true but just never had anybody discuss before. New ideas, new understanding, and maybe a few new tricks for making things better.

2/28/08: Reno, NV Christiana Bratiotis to give Hoarding presentation

Christiana Bratiotis, University of Nevada, Reno master of social work graduate and Boston University doctoral student, is coming home to raise awareness and provide insight on the complex mental health problem of compulsive hoarding with a program titled, “This Full House: Understanding Compulsive Hoarding.”

The event will take place at noon, Feb. 28 at the Joe Crowley Student Union Theatre. The event is open to the public. There is no admission fee and lunch will be provided to guests.

Additionally, an encore event will take place, from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in Mack Auditorium at Renown Regional Medical Center There is no admission charge and refreshments will be provided. Free continuing education units will be offered to social work professionals in attendance. Read more.

2/7/08: Montreal-Monthly OCD Info. lectures

Starting in February 2008, the Foundation will organize monthly OCD information nights. The meetings will be held alternatively in French and English.-These information nights are open to everyone: consumers, families, health professionals, students and interested public.
-Those wishing to attend need to register by contacting us by email or by phone at (514) 727.0012 or 1.888.727.0012. Space is limited and those pre-registered will have priority.
-Number of places available: 25
-Format: approx. 45 minutes of talk and 45 minutes of questions/answers.
-The talks will give general information on the diverse aspects of OCD such as subtypes and treatments.
-The attendance is free. However, voluntary contributions of any amount would be gratefully accepted.

2/26: Andover, MA Compulsive Hoarding Seminar

Compulsive hoarding seminar: Defining, identifying and treating compulsive hoarding is the focus of the innovative seminar entitled “Personal Space, Community Risk” from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Elder Services of the Merrimack, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence. The program will cover topics from the causes of compulsive hoarding to differentiating between hoarding and clutter, and knowing when a situation is a health or safety risk. This program is approved for 2.0 Social Work CEUs and is supported by a Lawrence Community Development Block grant. Space is limited. To reserve a seat, call Alicia Hussey at 978-946-1496.
